Our Story

Eastern Caribbean Trading Agriculture and Development Organisation (ECTAD)

In 2005, ECTAD Marketing Programme started Root Crop exports to the United Kingdom and later expanded into the French market. To date over 500 small farmers participate in the programme, which is led by appointed farmer-leaders within the rural villages in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.  The farmers collaborate their efforts by bringing their dasheen yields to a centralized packing facility within the village.  From here the customized and marketed boxes of dasheen are driven to port, and shipped to purchasers overseas.  The farmers have been the full beneficiaries of these exports, which has improved the livelihoods of those in their family and in their rural community.

Our Focus

Supporting small farmers and small farm families.

As part of our mission, ECTAD CARIBBEAN works with partners all over the world in sharing of good practices, innovation, indigenous and new knowledge.
