In 2005, ECTAD Marketing Programme started Root Crop exports to the United Kingdom. Currently we supply root crops mainly Dasheen to the United Kingdom and France. On average we ship over 16,000 Lbs of Dasheen fortnightly.

Dasheen/ Taro

Dasheen/ Taro is a starchy root vegetable it is an excellent source of dietary fiber and good carbohydrates. Its high levels of vitamin C, vitamin B6, and vitamin E also help to maintain a healthy immune system and may eliminate free radicals. Dasheen/ Taro must be cooked (boiled, roasted, stir-fried, braised, fried or baked) before consumption, consuming raw can result in an itchy mouth and throat.

Eddoe is a small root vegetable similar to Dasheen/ Taro is high in carbohydrates and fiber and should be prepared in the same manner.
