Tracey Wright ECTAD CARIBBEAN Jamaica partners attended workshop at University of Edinburgh, the discussions were centered around the challenges being faced by small farmers especially as it relates to improving the time by which payments are received from buyers such as hoteliers and supermarket operators.  The meeting discussed the possibility of utilizing block chain technology to address the issue identified in the Caribbean.  We are hoping that this new technology can improve access to credit and also improve the payment time between farmers and suppliers. The report is very detailed and should be able clarify our concerns about the technology.
